#127. Hallmarked silver button of two men embracing. Might be a naughty button. Early hallmark, F & London assay office hallmark…. F = Foreign. The London assay stamp just meant it was assayed in London. Any silver imported into the UK had to be assayed. The assay offices do not carry foreign makers stamps, imported silverware just received a ‘F’ stamp & an assay office stamp to prove it was silver. The twisted border often indicates Dutch silver, NBS Medium (1 1/16”)
