#174. Shakudo button of a crane standing in a stream near a tree. Shakudo is a Japanese alloy of gold & copper (typically 4–10% gold, 96–90% copper), which can be treated to develop a black, or sometimes indigo, patina, resembling lacquer. This is a Shakudo piece later made into a button. NBS Large (1 5/8”)
